Robert Sims, lyric baritone, an alumnus of Oberlin Conservatory, SUNY Binghamton, Northwestern University, and Music Academy of the West, performs a varied musical repertoire. He has performed in operas and is equally at home singing gospel, Broadway show tunes and spirituals. Sims has been hailed by critics for his rich tone, energetic performances, and convincing stage presence. Mr. Sims, Gold Medal winner of the American Traditions Competition, has been praised for his rich tone, energetic performances, and commanding stage presence.
Accompanying Mr. Sims is Chi-Yin Chen who serves as the primary collaborative pianist for the Choral Union at Jacksonville University among others. Ms. Chen is equally active as a violinist. She currently performs with The Coastal Symphony of Georgia and the Jacksonville Symphony, and has appeared with the Charleston Symphony, Richmond Symphony, and previously the Annapolis Symphony.
