Romanza Festivale celebrates local dancers on May 8, 7 pm when Kaleidoscope V takes the stage at Lewis Auditorium. A new feature this year is emcee Jennifer Dournaux who will enhance the audience’s perception of each dance as she transitions the program from dance to dance.
Ms. Dournaux has been a dancer for over 40 years and has been working with St. Augustine’s dance community for the past 15 years as a teacher, choreographer and a performing dancer. She teaches ballet and pilates at The Dance Company in St. Augustine and also works as a private coach in dance conditioning and technical training. She is an adjunct professor in the Humanities Department of both St. Johns River State College and Florida State College of Jacksonville.
As always, the breadth of dance arts practiced in the St. Augustine region will be showcased by groups such as Aerial Athletes, Ancient Cithy Sirens, COA Broadway Babes, Florida School of the Arts Dance program, Fusion Performing Arts Academy, Honey Burton, Matanzas Tap, Noise Complaint, North Florida Dance Association, Peru Dance, Rhythm Theory, St. Augustine Dance Guild, St. Augustine Line Dancers, SJCCA Dance “The Collective” at St. Augustine High School, 3’N Motion, The Perla Ballet, Three Hearts Dance and World Ballroom Dance.
To quote Ms Dournaux: “St. Augustine is a true treasure trove of artistic talent and I am delighted to see that this treasure is only growing bigger and brighter.”
