Live in Lincolnville: The Old City Drum Corps

May 11 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

|fe Free

Old City Drum Corps consists of local musicians trained in military marching, choreography and eighteenth century period music, who form a professional fife and drumline designed to bring the St. Augustine community together through history and music.  Michael Scott Thomas is the guiding force in this group.  They have recently received grants from the St. Johns Cultural Council  and the St. Augustine Beach Civic Association for authentic uniforms.

Join in on the fun at the St. Cyprian’s Church Courtyard.  The Old City Fife and Drum Corps will integrate two curated sections along with solo performances  featuring the Authentic Rope Tension Drum Line.

The Old City Drum Corps was the recipient this year of the Romanza Award.  The award honors groups who demonstrate excellence through the presentation of new and unique special events, to programming debuts or to substantial and remarkable enhancements to existing programs.  The Drum Corps used the award grant to contribute towards the purchase of their authentic uniforms.
