The Boathouse Cello Choir formed in 2011 when a group of amateur cellists started meeting in the dock house at Epping Forest Yacht Club in Jacksonville, FL. While the view was spectacular, expansion of the group eventually required a move to a larger rehearsal space.
The BHCC is an eclectic group in that they play everything from classical to rock & roll, often including lots of crowd-pleasing pop tunes. They try hard to present sedate concerts, but to the thrill of the audience they usually fall into the category of a variety show ……singing, dancing, corny jokes and even audience participation……
The BHCC has performed for the Riverside Arts Market, the Jacksonville Art Walk, retirement homes, private social clubs, local festivals and with the First Coast Pops Orchestra.
The Boathouse Cello Choir under the direction of Jack Feeney, will perform the second concert of the Chamber Music Series on Monday, May 11, at 12 noon in the sanctuary of Ancient City Baptist Church.
