Romanza Chamber Music Series: First Coast Harp Ensemble

The First Coast Harp Ensemble, led by Kathryn Braswell, is composed of harpists from Jacksonville, Saint Johns, St. Augustine, Palm Coast, Brunswick and St. Marys, Georgia.  The ensemble provides beautiful harp music as a gift to the communities in the First Coast area of Florida.  They have played at a variety of venues including the Knighting Ceremony in St. Augustine, “Christmas Made in the South”, the Jacksonville International Airport, the Sulzbacher Center and the Lightner Museum.  This is their first…

Romanza Chamber Music Series: Pegge Ealum, Flute with Jazz Trio

Pegge Ealum, professional flutist hailing from Jacksonville, will perform Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio by Bolling.  This work by Claude Bolling combines classical music composition with jazz music composition – a “crossover” musical expression.  The Suite was  composed in 1973 and recorded in 1975 with Claude Bolling, piano; Jean-Pierre Rampal, flute; Max Hediguer, bass; and Marcel Sabini, drums.  This recording won a Grammy for Best Chamber Music Performance.  It is composed of seven movements – all of which will be…
