See “The San Agustin” the 450th Legacy Vessel

The “San Agustin”, St. Augustine’ Maritime 450th Legacy vessel is located at the historic waterfront grounds of the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park.  She was handcrafted from the ground up by the Saint Augustine Maritime Heritage Foundation, Inc.’s dedicated volunteers.    Visit the Fountain of Youth Park on Wednesday, May 8, when the SAMHF boatbuilders will be there to share information about the vessel’s history and construction. Where Art meets History – an Exhibition by the St. Augustine Art Association

The St. Augustine Art Association, founded in 1924, is presenting an exhibition called “Where Art Meets History”.   The exhibit will be a culmination of a St. Augustine Plein Air Paint Out sponsored by the Art Association in April. The Chamber Music Series: Smith/Diaz Play Piano Four Hands

Anna Smith and Rodolfo Diaz join forces to present two movements from Petite Suite composed by Claude Debussy between 1886 and 1889.  This suite for four hands was first performed in 1889 by the composer himself.  Two movements of the suite will be presented in this concert:  the first movement entitled “En Bateau” which depicts a sailing boat and the experience at sea and the fourth movement, “Ballet” which recalls dancing schools at work and includes a  beautiful waltz. Young Performers Recital

St. Augustine’s young performers will have two opportunities to showcase their talent during Romanza Festivale.  The first recital will be on Tuesday, May 7 and the second on Wednesday, May 8, both at 4:30 pm in the chapel of Memorial Presbyterian Church.  Local teachers and music studios will present their most advanced students giving them an opportunity to perform for their peers and for their enthusiastic fans.

Lincolnville Live! Outta Sight Band in Concert on the Commons

The beautiful courtyard, the Commons at St. Cyprian Episcopal Church in Lincolnville, will keep the beat going on Tuesday, May 7, with a performance by the Outta Sight Band from the Florida School of the Deaf and Blind at 7:15 pm.  These talented young musicians, supported by faculty members, Jim Carpenter, Elizabeth Roth and Bill Sabo will bring their special brand of music to Festivale from 7:15 to 8 pm.
