Gilded: Impressions of the Flagler Era-Exhibition by the St. Augustine Art Association

Two Glorias by Vivaldi and Poulenc, the St. Augustine Community Chorus in Concert

The St. Augustine Community Chorus under the baton of Michael Sanflippo, will present two settings of the traditional Latin text of the “Gloria”.  The Vivaldi Gloria, written in the early 18th century, contrasts greatly with Poulenc’s setting, which premiered some 250 years later in 1961.  Listeners will discover plenty of contrast but several commonalities as well in these two choral masterworks which are dynamic standards in the choral repertoire.
