The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center was established by the Friends of Lincolnville in 2005 inside the Excelsior School building, built in 1925, the first high school for African American students in St. Johns County. The museum sits in the heart of the Lincolnville community formed by freed Black slaves after the Civil War. The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center offers a rich and comprehensive history of the triumphs of African Americans in the Nation’s oldest city.
Hours are 10 am – 3 pm Tuesday through Friday. Times are available for appointments by groups.
