A modern take on a classic duo, Deux Saisons is known for presenting concerts with a diverse collection of old and new classical repertoire. Featuring soprano Keri Lee Pierson, and classical guitarist Christopher Schoelen, this voice and guitar duo performs works that extend from the Renaissance through today. Their repertoire includes works that range from old to new, harmonic to dissonant, rhythmic to melodic. Deus Saisons (French for two seasons) brings classical music to a wide community by integrating the music into any venue – venues as diverse as breweries, churches and farms – and using it as a tool for education and restoration.
For the Romanza Festivale of the Arts, Deux Saisons will be presenting an exciting new program that will heavily draw influence from the Andalusian sounds of Spain. From the sweet sounds of Fernando Sor to the fiery dance rhythms of Manuel de Falla, this recital will present music that surrounds the long and harmonious relationship between dance and song. The program will feature a new transcription of Falla’s Siete Canciones Populares, arranged by Mr. Schoelen, arrangements of songs by John Dowland as well as a newly commissioned piece that the duo will premiere at this concert.
